Hello all,

Welcome to my cornily-named newsletter. Every now and then—actually, only when I’ve been in New York, I’ve been asked if the K in my last name is silent. Yes. It is silent. Now that we have that out of the way, here’s what you can expect to find in these posts:

A) writing about books which has not otherwise found its way into another publication;

B) writing about things that aren’t books; for example: films or music;

C) already-published pieces that I like or feel could use a brush-up or both;

D) fiction, perhaps, particularly a few of the run of Schopenhauer-related stories I’ve been working on these past few years.

I have a sneaking suspicion that option B may be the most common. We’ll have to wait and see. As with most freelance writers, I’ve had my share of published pieces either appear in drastically different form than I originally envisioned them or, worse, be killed altogether. A few such pieces will likely appear here (hopefully without bloodstains!).

Regularity might be a stretch—I’d settle for irregularly regular.
